A whole new way of experiencing the Zaanse Schans
Have you always wondered how the Dutch past was like? This is a unique chance to learn more about the Netherlands in the 18th century on the historical Zaanse Schans with its traditional houses and windmills. Join our Daily Walking Theatre, preformed by Ingrid Marsman, a resident of the village, experienced guide and actress. She will bring you back to 1850 on a informative and entertaining tour where you will be welcomed by her character Kaatje Slagter, the mayors wife, and you will join her on her daily walk. She will share with you the latest gossip and shows you where to find the clog factory, cheese farm and windmills. One of the hilights on the tour is a visit to her own home, the ‚Mayor’s Mansion‘ where she will proudly show you her antique doll house and tiled chimneys. In the cozy dinging room you can enjoy tea and cookies that are served by the maid.
